Washing the Delicates
I don't know about you, but I'm not so good with washing my delicates in a timely manner. Regular laundry I (usually) do weekly; Handwashing eh.... monthly? There's just something about wearing gloves and hang drying that makes me think it's going to take forever. So when I ruffled through my bras/ panties drawer yesterday and saw that things were looking pretty slim (and granny)- I decided the time had come. And it honestly took me all of about 10 minutes.

I found this video on youtube that explains how to wash them if you never have. I wear gloves and hand wash mine in our bathroom sink- much easier than the basin route she takes- but it's honestly a good tutorial. Her drama skills are quite enjoyable as well.
Does it take you forever as well or am I alone here?

Imagination

There is a dish to hold the sea,
A brazier to contain the sun,
A compass for the galaxy,
A voice to wake the dead and done!
That minister of ministers,
Imagination, gathers up
The undiscovered Universe,
Like jewels in a jasper cup.

DIY in 5 Minutes
I've been without my credit cards for awhile now. Which means when I want to do something new and crafty- I need to use materials I already have. So since I can't buy the frames I've been wanting to get, I decided to get creative. Here's my 5 minute project that I'm actually quite happy with. I took some of the clothespins and twine that I used for our wedding- and created a photo line in our office. It's unique. I can change out the pictures whenever I want; and I was able to do something with all the twine and clothespins I have lying around!

What Happens When You Don't Have TV

Danny and I don't have television service. We own 2 tv's, but no service. When we moved into our house, we decided to cut out cable in favor of saving money, reading more, and spending more time together. Everything went pretty well. I admit I missed Food Network and watching Samantha Brown on the Travel Channel. And bringing our dining room chairs up to the computer to watch the Office and 30 Rock did get old sometimes. But really- the savings were worth it. And it still is- but strangely now, I think we're watching more tv than ever. Let me explain:
A little over a month ago, a coworker lent us the 1st and 2nd season of Heroes. We were getting kind of tired of our old dvds and needed something new to watch. After the first episode had played, we were instantly hooked. Embarrassing as it is, we watched the entire season in 2 days. We left the house only for food. We stayed in the same clothes. We were a mess... but having so much fun together.
Since season 3 has still yet to come out, we thought we'd give one more show a shot to fill in the downtime. And again- we're addicted, only this time it's Lost. We're taking this one slower- no 2 day marathons here- but we're still enjoying it so much. And the fact that we have many more seasons of this one to catch up on- just makes it even better.

Any other shows we should know about for the future?

Blueberry Pancakes
Two Sundays ago I conquered my pancake fears. For some reason- pancakes and brownies always scare me. Something about things in a box (or canister in this case). They seem so simple. Instructions are clearly stated and still I find a way to overcook or undercook them. But not this time my friends. Clearly indicated: the ingrediants :)

And then... I mixed them.
And they looked like this:
And then... I forgot to take a picture of the finished product! Can you believe that?! My triumph over the pancake undocumented? Terrible I tell you, because they were a perfect golden brown. Oddly enough, the picture instead was this:
I really don't understand what I'm doing in the kicthen sometimes...

Perfection
After an already crazy work week, I had a 15 hour day on Friday and 14 hour on Saturday. Then on Sunday- we realized we needed to throw an impromptu birthday party- leaving us with 2 hours to prepare. When we closed the door at the end of the night, the husband and I sank to the floor, literally... and then were awakened off an on as he was called into work, came back, and then was called in again. Hopefully this work week won't be as crazy- but I thought the poster below was perfect for how I was feeling/ still kind of feel :)
